I got my valve cover powder coated and when I got it back they removed the thin metal piece on the inside. What can I use to attach it back to the cover?

As I recall, Mazda used a number of small screws to hold the cover in place.

Yeah, take it to Ace Hardware and get some small metric screws to fit.

I thank you for the help and I have one more question, I don't think the holes in the valve cover are threaded, if not and I tap them do I put lock tight to make sure they don't back out.

They are threaded! I would take it back to the powered coater and ask them to supply the screws that they removed. If they're weren't going to put it back together for you, they should have at least saved the screws with the cover. Also, there is a gasket for that cover. You get it from a dealer or an aftermarket parts company.

Cool I found a good parts connection, so I can get the gasket and screws. Thanks for the help.
