I had a rough idle on my 88 when I had it, was shaking at idle. It turned out to be a vacuum leak, but it was a faulty vacuum valve. I started pinching vac lines with needle nose pliers when it was idling (after verifing no hose leaks), and when I pinched one hose, it idled smooth all of a sudden. Out came a screw that fit in the end of the vac hose, and off I went lol, it was for an emissions device, and we don't have testing here.
