so my b2200 I've replaced the head gasket valve seals and valve cover gasket. it didn't smoke before the head gasket "blue smoke which means oil". and i though i had some stuck oil rings so i soaked them overnight and now it dosent smoke at idle just about after you get past 1800 rpm, and i noticed the plugs from cylinders 1, 3 and 4 were gummed up with oil. it has had a rebuild 50 thousand miles ago from the original owner. but the head has 225k miles on it which makes me think its the valve guides. but it seems more like a ring problem. i figured you guys that deal with mazdas more than me could give me some insight. - Thanks, Zach

I would start with a compression check. I assume you have about 225K miles on the motor? I wonder if you are getting excess blowby, which will increase with engine RPM, and that is blowing crankcase oil into the intake.

I had 165 psi on all four, and my B2200 still smoked, at 183K before my rebuild.
