How exactly do u shave the tabs on the wheel hubs? Does it affect the balance of the rims? Planning on using 17" Chevy steelies again but I wanna do it right this time around.

i just use a regular angle grinder with a "flaper" wheel...worked out great.

^^^ exactly what he said its quicker and safer than using a grinding or cutting disc

grind them away, that is exactly how you do it.

if you need more instruction than that, maybe you shouldn't use a power tool.

but if you still want to try, here's some help

get this stuff ready
1. safety glasses
2. a 4 - 4 1/2" angle grinder
3. several 40 - 80 grit flap discs that fit your grinder
4. extension cord
5. gloves

here comes the hard part...

a. put on your glasses
b. put on your gloves
c. put the flap disc on your grinder
d. plug the cord into electricity
e. plug the grinder into the cord
f. grind the tabs off flush

that is exactly how you do it, and it will not affect wheel balance.

hell i used an already used flapper that still had plenty of life and was able to knock out all 4 corners and still have flapper disc leftover... lol
