I searched and searched and had no luck..

I should have measured before I pulled my engine but I didnt.. I need to lower my engine to clear the stock hood with my weber.. How much can you lower the engine before the oil pan sticks below the frame or contacts the cross member? I am guessing I need to lower it an inch but I do not believe I have that much clearance.. I am already running the short airfilter.. my truck is Bodydropped.

Also I bought a used Weber and got my adapter kit today. How do you connect the throttle? I plan on modifying the part off the stock carb but what have other people done? Any pictures?

Most of us purchased complete Redline Weber 32/36 DGEV kits. These arrived with the throttle adapter already installed. I'd guess you could purchase these separately, hunt on redlineweber.com for a part number, then find a Weber retailer.

Well I figure I can just fab something up, and that is why I want a picture of it.. I already have an idea.. but would like a picture to compare..

I have seen the universal adapter kit too.. But you have to cut the end off the stock cable.. is that what everyone is doing? I really do not want to do that.. I will modify the stock carb linkage instead if that is what you are having to do..

Now way more important.. how much can I lower my engine??

Well after taking more measurements.. I think I am just going to trim the inside brace of the hood.. I only need around an 1/8-1/4" and its only in a short area.. Its just not worth the work involved in cutting off the engine mounts off the frame and lowering everything then having to work around everything else.. not knowing what its going to do to the trans angle etc.. so disregard that request.. long term I want to try to fab a cowl hood..

With the complete W675 Weber kit, the stock accelerator cable is used as is.

I think maybe what you need is 99007.675

There use to be a company that made lowered motor mounts for body dropped trucks but you could make some your self especially if you only need 1/4" to 1/8".

You could get some spare motor mounts and modify them to fit.

I haven't completed it yet and I'm sure you wouldn't want to go through this much work but for my body dropped Toyota project I've lowered the motor 2". Lowering it that much with out modifying the stock engine cross member I have to finish modifying the oil pan, oil pump, and buy a remote oil reservoir.

Someone else would need to confirm but I think on Mazdas you can lower the motor 1" to 1.5" with out having to modify the oil pan or engine cross member.

I found a picture of the linkage finally..

I think I can take the factory one to work.. mill the opening out in the bridgeport and just use it.. save myself 25$.. and have the samething.. only cost myself an hour or so of work..

Baha - if I can lower it 1/2" without hitting my cross member and without the oil pan hanging below the frame I will happily do it.. I just do not want to open a large can of worms.. over a 1/4"... now is the time to do it.. Thanks for the info..
