How much timing advance is going to be to much? I am running a weber carb progressive, and have bored the block .020 over. it is runing at idle with vacuum advance conected and 25 degrees of advance. I was curious if any one has one set any higher. i am trying to get all the power i can out of the motor. it wont hold much over 80 on the hwy.

I forgot to tell you it is a 86 b2000 manual with no smog or accesories

no one knows where you live. thats a big deal. if you cant keep up 80 kph, thats a problem. if you cant keep up over 80 mph, thats because its a truck, not a vette.

25? My old 2.2 with a weber, cam, and header would hold 105mph. My timing was set at 10 degrees BTDC at idle.

My B won't go past 85. But she'll hold steady at 75 all day. I haven't checked the timing at any point though.

Mine is also an 86 B2000. Not running the computer, some smog stuff removed, still need to remove the rest.

25 degrees is way too far. That is probably to the point that you are causing a loss of power.
