So i just found out i have two fuel pumps is that normal? i have an electronic one in the fuel tank and i have one thats connecting to the firewall and im guessing thats the mechanical one my truck wont start cuz my weber 32/36 is flooded with fuel it would just die out when i start it.

no you don't have 2 fuel pump. the mechanical fuel pump is mounted to the head, if your running a weber with an electric pump you will need a fuel pressure regulator. the stock fuel pump, pumps to much fuel for a weber to operate properly. also do you have 12volt dc hooked to the choke?

this is what the mechanical pump looks like. its located on the cylinder head, passanger side, near the firewall but not on the fire wall.

now if you have this pump you dont have an electric pump, unless someone installed one or both. did you install the carb or was it in the truck when you got the truck?

this is the stock fuel filter that is on the firewall.

also there is a sending unit in the tank that has wires ran to the top of it. so if that is what your referring to as a fuel pump it may not be.

there was a 32/36 automatic choke when i got it but that one broke all the gasket inside was messed up but i got a new 32/36 but it a manual choke that im trying to install myself. came upon a fuel pump poublem we changed the one in the tank with an automatic pump and when i was looking for the regulator i discovered this mechacial one. i was trying to buy a mr gasket regular but the sales guy is saying i have to make a bypass line or else ima break the regulator but another guy said the 89 models dont need one so im still tryna research to be sure low on funds trying not to waste money lol

if you have an electric fuel pump. you WILL NEED a pressure regulator, you DO NOT NEED to run a bypass, what would be the point of installing a regulator if you were to install a bypass too? if you also have a mechanical pump, you WILL NEED to uninstall it and get a block off plate to put in its place.
