kia sportage motor bolts to our mounts and tranni and all accessories from our motor bolt to it as its the same block. ive read a ton about it but ive never done it. but i know its gotta be the 2.0 from around the 1999 year from what ive read. it gives u a dohc and fuel injection. u gota swap ecu harnesses too tho. and theres a few more snags to overcome. but id rather someone whos done it tell you how all that goes because i dont know for sure, and wouldnt wanna steer u in the wrong direction

Look into the Miata 1.6 or 1.8 FE3 (FE-DOHC) motor. It's pretty easy. Bolts right in, Take the bell housing off a miata tranny and swap it over to the b2200 tranny and it will bolt up to stock tranny. The intake has to be either flipped with and adapter bracket since it runs the wrong direction or a custom intake manifold made. ECU and wiring harness or if you hate doing wiring harness swaps (like myself) you could run a standalone system like mega squirt.

Once that is done, it's SUPER EASY to turbo. lol

Side note... our tranny's are good fro about 180-200 horse. Any more than that it probably wont hold up so you would wanna look into the miata tranny swap. I THINK (read somewhere) that the miata tranny will take the b2200 tail shaft so you wont have to do a custom driveline.

There is a TON of info on this swap on this forum. Just do a search.

You can use a regrind cam in a b2200. All you need is #5 stainless steel washers inbetween the lash adjusters and the rocker arms. I did it to my 1990 b2200.
