The 2 inch body lift was not too intense... Minor cutting and drilling but overall, just time consuming. I too wanted to go as high as possible but after reading up on the required installation process between the 2" and 3" I ended up going with the 2". Here is the reason why I went with the 2 instead of 3 inch due to my tools at the time and time constraints. Total install took me about a day.
Due to my location and living situation at the time, I needed my B as a daily driver, so I needed the quickest turn around time and least amount of work to get my tuck up in the air, torsion were already indexed up. If going with the 3" there were some issues with it, that the 2" lift would not run into.
Brake lines would need to be replaced with longer ones, the shifter hole in the cab would need to be cut to allow full movement between gears, longer radiator hoses and lowering bracket for it, bumpers would need to be spaced further, (also an issue with the 2" but not as bad) fuel filler neck needs to be extended, larger loss in power(cant have that) and the body roll would be a lot worse with it only an inch higher than the 2" lift.
The 2" lift didn't require me to do any of the above. other than the bumper bracket spacing.
I wish I had the time and tools to do the 3" but I am very happy with the 2". It gives me a good lift and I was able to fit a little taller tire under there. plus I didn't have power steering in it at the time so turning 31's would have been a chore, not to mention the huge loss of power with that large of a tire and the added body roll. I am currently running (*edited tire size) 225/75R15 which come out to around 29" tall and I still have some room to go bigger now that I have power steering, although I don't wanna lose any more power. I am pretty quick (don't laugh) still with the engine upgrades I have done but I have added a lot of weight with the caper shell and truck bed interior. It still handles surprisingly well too. I might go with some 31's the next time I need tires but for now I'll run with what I have, I'm happy with where it sits now.
