I was reading this yesterday after i did the radio. Luckily i get to pull the wiring to check everything again and redo a lot of things if i can figure out this charging issue.

Thanks again for posting this though!

There aren't that many wires left on it man. Don't give up so easy, start at the ignition and go forward.

I speaking mostly about the abomination of wiring for the sound system that was previously in the truck.

I need to pull all of that. Already started last night.

Just running out of time fast.

Running out of time for what?
Sloppy wiring is one of my biggest challenges, its good to do your own anyway so you know exactly what and where everything is ran.

Camp N Drag is 8 days away.

We leave next wednesday and the truck needs to be running and driving by then.

So i think i got the charging issue figured out but its going to require lots of rewiring.

As far as the tail lights...

Are there 2 different relays on the column? I changed mine out because my turn signals werent working but i noticed the pins are different on the new one to the old one.

Any help on this? Ill try and post a pic of it tomorrow...

Yep, one is a 4 terminal connecter and one with a 5. You need the correct combo switch housing, or the switches themselves, to match the harness in your truck. The factory manual shows one style for carbureted trucks and another for injected. But somebody on the forum had a truck that didn't follow that.

Which switch do you need? 4 pin or 5? Here is a thread showing the difference:

I need the 4 pin. Is that y my tail lights dont work now?
