keep the cat... also the pipe b4 and after the flange for the y-pipe is oval not round(on my 96 4.0L at least)

If you keep the cat you should deff. replace it with a good one. I would ditch it but that is just personal opinion. With a 2.3 a properly functioning cat is not going to restrict your flow very much, and depending on the laws in Fl you may be required to have it. Here in Ca. we are but the cops really only check ricers.

Catalytic converters are a national regulation; all states require it. However, Florida has no inspection per se, but if he is pulled over, and a cop wants to write him a ticket for it, he gets some big ass fine.

^^^what he said...haha! but i dont car about the popo. i get pulled over for bull shit stuff all the time. but ill prob just stick with a new cat.thanks for the help guys!
