In my 2005 Ford Ranger Extra Cab, I put in speakers, and the wires were just kind of random colors... So without checking at the speaker, how would I know which on was which when I go to change it at the back of the deck?

Also since the ranger has a big hole fore the stock stereo, where would I get an adapter type thing so my new deck just went right in?

Thank!
If that didn't make any sense, its early, and I'll repost later when I'm more awake...

the speaker wires in teh door really dont matter.

yea they make anadapter kit for single DIN units.

but here ya go

LF
+ orangegreen/light green
- light blue/white

RF
+ white/light green
- darkgreen/orange green

LR
+ grey/light blue
- tan/yellow

RR

Ok, I bought one of the harness adapters... Got the deck all wired up, now its time for the amp. Where should I run the power wire? Is there a hole in the firewall that I can use so I dont have to drill more?

I am going to run the ground to the frame, and my amp is in my back attached to the box, so where should I run it (or drill a hole) and make it down to the frame?

Once again it's early...

Thanks!

On my truck I found an existing grommet on the driver's side of the firewall and ran my power wire through it. You don't necessarily have to run a ground all the way to the frame. I pulled the carpet back in my extended cab and ground off the paint and used one of the bolts where the jump seats used to be. It worked fine for 4 years now.

if its automatic, there is a rubber plug in the firewall right above the carpet under the dash on the drivers side with nothing in it.

Its a 5 speed... So anyother places to run it through? We are going to start it in about 10 minutes, so I'll check if we dont find any holes...
