u joints

I needed to replace the u joints in my 88 d50. When I went to the parts store the ones they offer for my truck were to big, I even went to 2 parts stores and got the same outcome so I said what about a mini RAM. They don't offer a replacement for a mini ram. So my question is how do I replace them when I can't find them new?
