Got a 1988 Dodge Ram 50 as my first car and im planning on building it up a bit and making it into an off roading machine!

2.6 liter, manual trans, 4x4, and im coming up on 230k miles

So far me and my dad have replaced the steering gear box, power brake booster and master cylinder, the muffler and tail pipe, the ignition coil, and we've put in a tachometer. Oh! and how could i forget the dancing hula girl on the dash board!

I'm planning on buying some larger wheels and beefier tires, giving it a new paint job, squeezing out a bit more power under the hood, possibly lifting it up an inch or two, and if i can find one, i'll get a roll cage for the bed.

So hopefully this forum will help me out and i'll be sure to keep you all up to date!

Hey guys! Thought I'd give you all an update on the truck.

I got the new wheels and tires on, they're ProComp steel rims 15x8 with ProComp all terrain tires 31x10.5
Just a heads up to anybody considering upgrading to larger tires, they do rub in the front when you turn hard but i took the lower body panel off of the front bumper and cranked up the torsion bars a little bit.
I have a set of Montero upper control arms sitting in my garage waiting to be swapped out since I've heard that's good for a couple inches of lift in the front.

Anyways, as it turns out, our little truck are quite the off road machines! Been driving through mud, up steep inclines, over rocks, and even through water up to the bottoms of the doors. So here's a few pics!
