new guy in southern az with a 88 d50

Hows it going everyone. I was going through the build threads and figured I would join. I picked up a 88 d50 4cyl auto trans all stock for only $400 bucks! it runs good needs some body and interior work but fun little truck for the price..
it is lacking balls IMO, I'm used to the power v6 my 93 Acura legend has lol
Anyways one day I plan to bag it but that's later on.. for now ill just go cheaper and static drop it but I'm confused with the front..
how would lowering/cut springs work cause the spring cover thing is already about an inch from the bump stop(I'll remove it) but do I have to cut the cover part so it can get low with out smashing into the lower control arm?

lowered the rear. 3" drop blocks and removed the middle leafs today.. first drive it was bouncing like crazy lol then I removed the bump stops.. still have two inches till the frame meets the axle lol I'm going to cut it in half and reinstall.


just need drop spindles for the front some body work/paint and rims lol it'll be alright:)
