As my title says I am trouble with my truck, and it actually kinda pisses me off cause I just have been able to drive, and the last couple of weeks it has ran perfect. But if I go out and start it, it idles, bogs down, then dies, does anyone have any clue what this problem could be?

Thanks

Need some info, is it carbed or fuel injected? What's been done to it lately? Could be something as simple as bad gas or clogged fuel filter.

Sorry for the lack of info, it's a 1995 fuel injected, and before this it has had no problems, recently I had a new exhaust manifold, o2 sensor, master brake cylinder, starter, spark plugs, cap and rotor, spark plug wires, and had an oil leak fixed that was leaking from the valve cover. I talked to a mechanic and he suggested that it may be my alternator. It was weird, I came home , today from vacation and tried to start it and dead battery, which I thought was weird since I left nothing on, so he was telling me that if batterys are completely gone that could be the cause, and that it possibly could be the alternator. So I got the battery charged, tossed it in, and it started up no problem, and idled just fine. Then after a few i decided to give it some gas, bogged down, then decided to removed one of the battery cables, and when I did truck completely died. So hopefully it will be that. If not I guess I'm screwed.

I had a similar problem but it happened when I was driving full speed. On my truck it was the carb. Before I replaced it I cranked up the idle and it made it run much better. The idle will be higher than normal but you might want to try it. other things you might want to look at are o2 sensor. Mass air flow sensor. or if there is any blockage in the intake or carb. Make sure your intake is clean and make sure you don't have a loose wire or something cuz it kinda sounds like it might be that.

If it dies when you remove a battery cable, then, more often then not, it's your alternator. If you can, check it w/a hydrometer. Stick a meter across the terminals. You should read 13.1 vdc or so. Also, check your main engine ground and condition of your alternator belt.

Figured it out, my battery went bad, and as I was told the battery grounded it's self out, this causing my alternator to go bad, and it also blew my aftermarket tach, which is good thats all it was. But at first the mechanic wasn't sure, cause the alternator was replaced, and my truck still was bogging down, then he removed the neg. terminal and it started idling normal, then put it bag on and bogged down, and so in the end it a bad battery.
