HI !
HELP ! I have an 87 Dodge Power Ram 50 4x4 2.6 that runs like shit! 285,000 miles , third motor . Current engine came from a 88 2wd truck wreck with 55,000 miles . Starts & idles well but will not get out of it's own way upon acceleration . Accelerator pump is working . Falls on It's face if you try to hit he gas at any speed . If you baby it it runs good & maybe that loaded Mack truck won't pass me before I get up to 50 . Tune up , factory spec NGK plugs , new fuel filters , no improvement ! Last motor ran this way too ! Super solid truck but useless if it can't keep up with traffic . All the emissions stuff is hooked up & in good shape . Somebody drilled out the emissions plug on this & all the other carbs I have used . I think the screw is 2 1/2 turns out but I would have to check . Has a real nasty stumble / cutout at 35 & 50 mph & if you dont let up & baby it she just falls over & misses & coughs until you let up . Flooring it only wastes gas & it still falls all over itself till it hits high rpm & pulls hard .
I know this is a real orphan truck bt I like it & want to keep it on the road !

If you don't have to worry about smog inspections get rid of the POS stock carb and throw on a Weber. Either 32/36 34/34 or a 38. Do a search its been discussed a bunch.
