oil leak

my mm is spitting oil and i know where its coming from. the front main seal is no good and i have a new seal to put in. i have the crankshaft pulley off and i still need to get the key and old seal out but i dont know how im going to do that without damaging anything. if someone can shed some light on the subject that would be nice.
