When I first learned to drive was in a 5 speed bright red mighty max. truck was a tank. learned really how dependable these lil guys can be. That truck was something i didnt get the chance to keep being my older brother wrecked it...sad. At the age of 16 I bought a 1995 Isuzu Pick up, not the pup and not the hombre, just good ol pick up. I think in 95 it was the year Isuzu switch between Japanese made to american if Im not mistaken. Served me for many years till I was stupid and put it to a wall. Years again go by, although there has been a smaller nissan pick up that has served my family well. Has around 250000 on it and still runs like a champ. So being I had a buick century a couple months ago that had a bad head gasket, go figure, I was out in look for a vehicle. i have since then been a proud owner of a 1980 Plymouth Arrow. Lil guy is in very good condition.

Knowing it was manufactured by mits is the only reason I bought it. It has served me well these past 3 months. Had the head gasket go a month in. I did purchase the kit set but I decided to try Steel Seal, a non sediment liquid sealer. I will attest to the fact that it works wonders and has done the trick needed since I was in a bind. If it fails all just do it the old fashion way. Anyways I was wondering since this site seems to know the ins and outsof these mits builds I might inquire for some knowledge. It is an auto and would really like to eventually switch it back to a five speed. I stumbled across and exact duplicate of my truck in a city near by to me, it was actually a D-50 same color same everything, yet it was a 5 speed. Is there after market chances of finding transmissions or do I have to search out used parts? When it comes to many things about the truck are there companies that specialize in after market? I remember when i dealt with the head gasket I came across a couple of head rebuilders. Sorry for the story, i just got away from myself.

You might be a to find rebuilt tranny for your truck, but is older and has an older tranny then the newer ones so not sure if they still sell them but check rockauto.com or your local parts store. Otherwise check car-part.com or local junk yards for
a used one.

No, not too many companies at all specialize in these trucks, most of what you can find is stock aftermarket or custom built as a lot of people do.
