94 Mighty Max

Hi, New member and 1st post! Looking to buy a 1994 Mighty Max V6 4 x 4 with 165000. Body is in good shape with no rust. Good original paint with a few dings. Has step bumper and sliding rear window. It has 16" aluminum wheels and bad tires!! The seat has the normal wear and it has factory a/c that needs charging. It has blue smoke at start up and when you romp on it. It clears up when driven. I think it's the valve seals. The crank shaft has been replaced due to stripped front bolt. He's asking $3000 and I've got him down to $2800. The book says that's a little high, but I don't know how rare this combination of options is on the Mighty Max! I don't want to miss out on a rare bird, but don't want to get into a money pit with new heads, etc!! Your thoughts would be appreciated!!

I don't know if you're still looking at this truck or not, but I own a 1994 MM v6 4x4 standard and it's a champ. I rolled it 360 degrees about 7 years ago and it's still running strong after minor repairs. The great thing about this truck is it is a very light 4x4 and it can run about 19/24 mpg. It has great accelleration as well. It's also easy to work on. As for the one your looking at, I would say he's trying to recoup some money on the crank. He's charging too much. I might consider it between $1500 and $2k. Hope this helps and good luck.
