hello all....
the stock anemic carb'd 2.0 in my 87 ram 50 needs to go. i was thinking of upgrading to a 2.4mpi but thought it would be even more of a bad boy if i got a v6 in there. i'd rather have the 2.4 in there than the old 3.0's but the 3.5 and especially the 260hp/tq 3.8 in the late model mitsu's would be really slick. my truck is a short bed, manual everything (except brakes) and has a 5spd. so a/c and all the luxuries are not an issue. i just want the truck to be dependable (and sporty), run on 87 octane (unlike a high dollar turbo setup) and i will re-gear the diff for better street manner and more mpg. obviously the engine will cost some $$$ and i will have to adapt the fuel injection and wiring as well as possibly mix and max engine mounts. anyone looked into this kind of swap? perhaps a stroker kit in a 3.0 block with some head work would be cheaper? this project is a good few months off, just having fun doing some research! thanks!
