I just picked up a 1992 D50 super clean with a bad 2.4 / 5speed 2wd.

Option 1, I have a Perkins 2.2L turbo diesel. question, where can I find a trans adapter plate.

Option 2, I build a 2.6 N/A with weber DGAS carb, 10:1 compression ratio, 3.0 roller rockers from my Sapparo ministock. will the 2.6 bolt up to the 2.4 trans?

I'd rather use the diesel since that engine would be more street able and have better fuel mileage.

do the diesel that would be bad ass. i doubt anyone makes an adapter plate but i could be wrong. i personaly think it would be easyer to use the tranny that came with the motor and just fab up the mounts.

the motor came out of a bobcat so there is no trans. 25 years ago I was a mechanic at a ford dealer and the rangers came with a perkins diesel for a couple years then went to a mitsubishi diesel. It's just about impossible to find any of those old rangers.

I'm pretty good at fabrication. after all, I put a 2.2 dodge engine into a conquest and used a ford trans with dakota bellhousing.
