buick v6

anyone done a buick v6 swap they used to be a big deal in datsuns years ago thinking it would be differant

you can get stroker kits for the fwd 3800's to punch them out to 4.2L they are generation specific and can had in both n/a and forced induction friendly compression ratios. add to that the supercharged engines that can push 300hp without mods. don't forget the northstar caddy v8 which is also available in the buick lucerne.

a .020 over 3800 headers cam ported supercharger 2.1 inch s/c pulley about 13 lbs boost
good for about 400 hp and 30 mpg built one for a fiend in a grand prix
i want to see one in a ram 50/mm i'm not going to have a lot of down time

Then convert it to RWD. Why not just find a RWD V6. montero 3.0s? Or something.

here's the deal i've got the engine and trans rwd complete don't have to buy anything except
exhaust and driveshaft
i'm trying find out any problems with this swap
i would like to swap in a 9 inch ford and do a 5 lug conversion

on my 87 ram 50 std cab short bed 5spd 2wd i want to run a late model montero 3.8 with a manual trans and dual exhaust. i will probably be stuck w/ building up an early 2.4 (i hate short stroke engines...aka the 2.0) so i can keep my original trans and definitely want to ditch the rear gear in favor of the conquest/starion 3.54 (with LSD...duh) for better highway driving.
