Ok so i've messed with carbs before but i am kinda stumped on this one. I cannot get the carb to come off of the intake. I took out the 4 bolts around the fuel bowl, am i missing a bolt somewhere? Also this is on a 85 D50 2.6

When you say "fuel bowl" are you talking about the 4 bolts around the throat of the carb? They're right on top. With these out the carb should be loose. Maybe give it a little rap w/a wooden hammer.

yeah that is what I meant. and ok i will keep trying to get it loose. Also, what smog stuff is on the carb? Since i don't live in a smog state i'm going to eliminate as much as I can

Hi hampton123,

On my 85 2.0 liter, the carb is attached with five bolts. There are four 12mm bolts and one 10 mm bolt. The 10 mm bolt is about an inch long and located by the accelerator pump forward and toward the fender of the other carb bolts.

If you still can't locate it, buy a new carb gasket and use it for a guide.
