overheating

so i just bought my mm everythings good then the first freeway trip it gets too hot.
changed thermostate,good lower hose, plenty of green anitfreez.
mech. told me might be blow head gasket om exhaste side.
any sug.?

I have a few questions:

Is the antifreeze level decreasing?

When the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap can you see coolant circulating in the radiator?

Does it also overheat when driving it around town?

Do you notice white exhaust smoke while driving your truck?

How many miles since you replaced the water pump?

I had the same problem. I replaced my head gaskit,water pump,thermo stat,radator cap, an hoses. The radator had a lot of clogged veins. Time for ether a new radator or clean that 1 an it takes more than a few flushs. I used pool cleaning acid an compressed air an it cleaned it up nice
