Hello, I'm new and I am in need of an answer to my 1990 Mighty Max problem which is this: I've rebuilt the 2.4 Liter 4cylinder engine and put in a new computer, new main relay, new starter, new distributor cap&Rotor and new ignitor. It runs great except It is only getting spark when the ignition switch is in the run position not the start position when cranking. When the weather is warm, it starts up when I back the key off to run position and runs fine. When the weather is cold , I only get a pop when I back the key off and it won't start at all. Does anyone know what is causing this and what do I need to replace? I can smell fresh fuel coming out the exhaust after a few cranks so, I know it is ignition related and not fuel. I have had this problem ever since I've owned the truck and am stumped and have moved to where it is colder winters and my truck just sits in the parking lot only to start on a warm day. I've come to this site because I have yet to find a conclusive answer on the internet.
Thanks,
Scotty D
