I recently found a dash cluster with a tach in it I plugged it Up and everything seems to work but the tach, has anybody ran into this problem before? If so how did you fix it? Please. Help me out

I'm gonna step out on a limb here, not knowing much about these trucks..... If your truck did not come factory with a tach in order to use a cluster with a tach your current cluster harness connector may need to be re-pinned. Try to look for wiring schematics for both the non-tach and tach-equipped trucks and it shouldn't be too hard. Hope this helps.

ive read there is a plug that has to be connected its in the engine bay i think by the coil. but when i hooked up a tach in my truck i just ran a wire off the coil to the tach.

I have installed a tach cluster in 4 different PU's and they have all worked with nothing extra done to them, just plugged them in. I would suspect that your tach does not work.

Well I pulled it out of am automatic d50 I drive a 5 speed mm everything in the back was the same except one little plug that wasn't on the new one I'm gonna swap it over off the old one

One of my swaps was from a 5 speed to an auto, so I assume they are the same

i wouldnt jump to that conclusion. there are a ton of people that put these clusters in and have to do something to get it to work. try mightyram50.com theres a write up on there on how to do it.
