Hey guys. I'm new to the forum, and my truck is a 1995 Mighty Max. Want to make my truck nice, but keep the whole gas mileage thing as high as possible. Most of my seals cracked or deteriorated at the same time due to my engine overheating... and there's a cheap 1991 MMX for sale with 542000 miles on the engine. Would this be an easy swap if I had the tools?

Engine Specs for my 1995 and 1991 are the exact same thing on Edmunds.com... if you know of any better places to find this information, it would be great!! Thanks guys!

I've had terrible luck with taking anything apart with this truck. It sat in Southern CA in someones driveway for 4 years before someone bought it and brought it to the east coast. I found this out after I did some repairs on it. I traced back the owners and talked with them... I've put about $5000 into the truck of just basic boring repairs. but I don't know enough about the engine to take it apart, and the estimate to do it at a garage was just shy of $1000.
My current engine is at 184,100 miles, and the one I'm considering is at 54,200 miles.

yes this would be a fairly easy swap. no modifications needed

yup as stated everything will just swap right over, it's all the same. But these motors are really very simple to take apart and fix.
