Hooking up a remote start

Hey guys, I am trying to hook up a remote start so that I can work under the hood and crank it at the same time. The instructions that came with the remote start does not explain how to hook it up on a 88 2.6 mighty max spx and at this point I do not understand the technical aspects of what I am trying to circumvent. Any help would be appreciated.

Got it figured out. I disassembled the steering column and found that when connecting the Blue wire to the Black/yellow wire through the remote start it will work. While I am sure this in not how the remote start was designed to work, it works just fine. If anyone, needs to see how I did this let me know and I can send some pictures.
