Having some cooling problems with my 88 max over the past few weeks, so today i decided to replace the thermostat and do a coolant flush. The previous owner had replaced the water pump, upon further inspection i found that the thermostat was removed entirely. Also installed a new fan clutch but, im still running hot any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

well, im out sold the mm for a 91 mustang lx have fun forum...and something to think about I've been on a bunch of different forums and to be honest im surprised that this one is still running. No help with any questions or anything, just wanted to let all you guys know that this forum really needs some help and redirection. Not very user friendly and i have run into some very rude people over asking noob questions.

Later, dude! Without a thermostat to regulate the water flow, it doesn't stay in the radiator long enough to cool. Lastly, the radiator could be plugged or otherwise in need of rodding out.

take the radator out of the truck an flow water thro it. put the radator cap on it an flow water thro where he top hoses mounts on to the radator an have it flow out the bottom with the hose on full. if water dosnt flow thro clean it with pool cleaner for a few hours an flush it then try it again
