Well they are pretty stout as is, doubt you will have any problems unless your putting tons of power down. But look around for 4x4 mighty maxs or d50, they will have a 4.2 or something like that rear gear, and just swap it out. There is no 5.xx rear end that I know of.

Iv got a chevy 350 in it. i belive the yota rear is the same 8in. 28 spline 10 bolt ring gear. and iv found ford made a 8in. 28 spline rear and i can get a mini spool for it to try and see if it well work in the mm rear. and thanks for the help! I'v had a hell of time finding out shit about stuff on this little truck. nobody around here has any idea about this thing. so iv had to do all the fab work from scratch. but i must say its been a pain but should be well worth it the first time down the track! iv got a 350 with about 400hp that came out of a work boat. A th-350 transmission out a 1975 Pontiac. the radiator in the bed like baja trucks. all iv got lift is to put the roll bars from the front of the frame to the end of it, fuel cell in the bed racing seat, 5 point harness and rear and drive shaft. thin off to the track for the first time!

Some 4x4 mighty max came with lsd and also late 80s80s montero which had the same axle. That's the only stuff that's going ti work in the Mitsubishi rear end.
