Just purchased an 88 D 50 4 x 4 that previous owner hired a man to do a timing change repair. Mechanic skipped out leaving the unfinished work behind. Motor is down to exposed gears & chain etc. Basically a pig in a poke buy, but the truck is real slick for it's age and I am considering to attempt to put this back together myself, need any and all help with the do and dont's and what to look for from some of you experienced board members. I live near KC MO. Thanks in advance.

just go buy a haynes or chilton manual real quick, shouldn't cost more then $20 and it will tell you every little detail to putting it back together. Theres to much info for me to try to type it out.
