Hey guys i decided to help my dad fix his truck luckily i found this site and think its awsome. The truck is an 89 ram50 he has had problems with the carb and i just found him the replacement with a new weber that i noticed that when i took of the old carb i seen nothing but coolant in the intake manifold and was kind of confused the truks sat for months and no signs of coolant in carb but any were else it could be coming from?

i cant remember for sure but i think it could be the intake manifold gasket if your lucky. if not maybe a cracked manifold. im pretty sure theres a coolant passage that runs through the intake manifold.

yes there is a coolant passage in the intake, its either a gasket or the intake is cracked inside.

Also anyone know what vaumn lines i need to keep for the weber

you dont keep any only one for the vacum advance it goes from the weber to the distributor. i even took out the wiring harness for the ecu.

Also, if you didn't drain any coolant out before taking off the carb it would have leaked in. The same thing happened to me. The conversion kit says to drain a bit of coolant out before removing the old carb. I didn't and got some in there. No biggie though I just shoved some paper towels in there to soak it up and once finishing the conversion it blew a bit of white smoke until it was all dried out.

Also when I first put on the adapter plate I put it on backwards so it didn't properly seal the coolant passage that's in the intake, caused a bit of leaking and I had to take it back apart to flip the adapter 180.
