Just purchased a 1986 ram 50 and want to simplify things. Get rid of anything that doesnt have to be there. Want emmission components gone, little vacum lines as possible, simple ignition, no heater, air conditioning, nothing.

Need some advice on the best ignition to use. Was thinking of keeping the distributor and upgrading to a blaster 2 coil, yet maybe there is a electronic setup (msd?) that I could get rid of the distributor.

Planning on running a weber and pacesetter headers. Any advice greatly appreciated.

The 2.6L may not benefit from the header, unless you have the exhaust manifold with precat.

The ignition is already full electronic. What more do you need? Unless you're going with a turbo setup, I don't think you'll see/feel any gains by messing with the ignition.

To my knowledge, there is no distributor-less ignition setup for the 2.6. if there is, you're messing with more sensors and electronics than the truck came with.
