mitsubishi mighty max motor swap ideas

I just bought one 95 Mitsubishi Mighty Max with a damaged crankshaft engine. I was planning to install another 6g72 from a Chrysler 3.0 van and came accross that it is not a direct swap. It will require mods. Can anyone suggest what vehicle motor will be best swap (montero motor is too expensive and hard to find) with minimal mods. what kind of mods i am looking at? Thanks

Is your truck a 2.4 or 3.0?

i was toying with the idea of ditching the old 2.0 in my 87 Ram 50 in favor of a 260hp/tq mivec 3.8 out of a late model eclipse. it would be a straight forward swap using some of the exterior bits from a 3.8 montero (only 215hp). the problems are cost and the fact that the only HD v6/RWD/5spd trans from mitsubishi was never available in the states. i would have to go to an automatic to keep or use the 4x4 trans 5spd trans with nothing connected to the transfer case to keep it rear wheel drive.

If its a 95 model then most likly its a 2.4 1990 and up are 2.4
