Tranny Swap

ok, so my 89 mm's transmission isnt working well and cant pull too much of a load. so my idea was to swap out the transmission out with a new one but trying to find a new/decent mm transmission is like finding a needle in a hay stack. then i had the idea of getting a transmission from a ford ranger or a chevy s-10 but i dont know if thats possible. has anyone tryed this?

not going to work, engine/tranny's are not compatible like that unless the two brands shared drive trains, which they didn't.

so i would be better off getting an engine and tranny then

then you have to deal with the problem of wiring and ECU's and sensors

im thinking that getting the engine would be alot easier than trying to find a decent tranny

Like I said with a different brand engine in there you will also have to get the complete wiring harness and computer for that engine and all other stuff with the engine, and then power that harness and everything.
