Yup that is right even the guys in arkansas build minitrucks. My name is Ricky. I have a small custom buisness called 3rd Shift Kustoms. We do bag installs, custom laser cutting, fabrication etc...
Enough about me, and on to the truck.
I have an 86 yota single cab with a 22r 4 speed. It has been my daily driver for the last 2 years. Due to recently selling my project a 74 Courier,I have decided to start working on my yota.
My main starting point is making repairs. I am starting with the Engine, and suspension. A basic rebuild of the 22r with a new clutch, and possibly a few new upgrades while its out. Then on to the suspension. Basics 1st such a ball joints tie rods etc.... Then on to the fun stuff from there. Body work, wheels/tires, interior etc...
If anyone has any suggestions on cheep mods or things I can do to the motor while its out aka tips and tricks let meknow I plan on starting the build in the next couple weeks.
Thanks
Ricky
While you got the motor out, get a cam and a header. I got a Doug Thorley header, and an EngnBldr cam. They know what they're doing when it comes to Yotas. I'd also recommend their rebuilt kits. I used one. Best price, very nice quality.
Hey man your not too far from me. I too play with the frikkin lazer beams.
welcome to the 4gear life
welcome to the site man, I remember you from RPS
Yea I am still there. I do a lot of ranger work still. I just sold the courier to a guy in VA, and will be working on the toy now it looks like.
Welcome aboard this crazy ship called yota scene...hopefully we dont scare ya but hopefully we corrupt ya
I am pretty damn corupt already. hell I been into minitruckin 18 years now.
Hell I remember an 84 Mazda being new and popular back in the day.
Some more details you may not know or want to know. I have had a 97 Ranger featured in May 2002 Minitruckin under the name Grounded Concept, I am partners in 3rdshiftkustoms.com, I like to cut and weld for fun. My wife hates me b/c I am beautiful!!!!
You've been a minitrucker as long as I've been alive.
