Ok, I just sold my 1995 GMC. It was bagged, shaved, tonneau cover, molded roll pan...just about everything but a paint job. I sold it dirt cheap to a guy in NYC who wanted to ship it rather than come and get it. I agreed as long as he took all responsibility for shipping charges, arrangements, etc. All I was to do was to drop the truck off with the transport guy. Anyway, the truck got there with no tonneau cover, one of the door appears to have been pryed open, vaious other bits of damage, and the bags don't hold air. The sale was conducted through escrow, so the money is secure, but not in my pocket. The buyer wants me to absorb the damages and reduce the price. I am thinking that since shipping was handled by them, they are responsible for either fixing it or dealing with the shipping company. Also, I feel that if they choose to refuse the truck and ship it back me, they should be responsible for repairing the damage done during shipping.
Anyone here have any experience with this type of thing?
