Parents should not live to see their children die.

I just flew back into BC from Calgary about 2 hours ago, a short 1 day trip to see my uncle who was terminally ill with cancer. My family wanted to be able to say goodbye, and I felt it was just right to go with them. I have not realized to my fullest the devistating effect of this or any disease that take someone so loved and make them so ill and so fast, I just saw him 6 months ago and we talked like we always used to and he seemed fine. I went to Calgary to say goodbye to a loved family member and was witness to the scariest thing I have ever seen, My grandfather and father cried at the loss of their son and brother. Now I am a full grown man but to watch them, the men I had never seen cry, or even become outwardly emotional destroyed me. Not only did I lose a loved one but I came to realize that my father and grandfather are just normal people like me. Life will never be the same.
