toyo rearend w/ discs?

does toyota have a rearend that is the same width as the 89-95 pickups rearend

You could use a Supra Rearend, and have a nice lip.

the only option you have there is the supra swap or the disc conversion from Downey.

what disc conversion from downey??? i was interested in this also for my 88

Forwarning, get a bank loan before you call them about the pricing. Last time I check it was around $1900

I think Downey is just plain pricey. I called them about a header, because they are one of two that make a smog legal header in California, for my truck. Well, they discontinued it, but still had the plans, and wanted $900 to make it. Needless to say, I paid Doug Throley 1/4 the price instead...

They use typical GM monte carlo rotors (re-machined to fit the larger bolt spacing) and caiipers. The only thing that is actually made is the mounting bracket and they charge a little over $350 just for those.

Hmmmmmm maybe I should chime in here for a little bit of advice.It took me two months to build my setup.Ok this kit I built is in negotiations with LC for them to sell it so I really cant tell you what parts it takes but I can tell you this.There are rotors that bolt exactly up to the yota pattern that work with the calipers.Yes the Monte carlo calipers are right but the discs are from a Ford product.Also the master cylinder has to be changed to a 4 disc toyta SUV,and you have to get the porptioning valve off of a older Toyota pickup that mounts under the master cylinder and the one in the rear is removed.That is about all I can say at this time but it kinda helps lead yall in the right direction,as for the bracket mine is custom made but it can be repeated.All and all I have about 450 in my rear disc brake setup and its to the quality of Downey.....Infact if this falls through with LC I might have to let the cat out of the bag.
