Moving Gas Tank In S-10 help

i'm baggin' my truck here in a few days and we are moving the gas tank into the bed sideways cause of the obvious dragging problem and i don't have the cash for a fuel cell. so has anyone on here done this before, we were thinkin just mounting it on the frame rails and makein sure the drive shaft clears. but any ideas on how to get the thing held down. and we were thinkin' just extending the hoses. anything i should know before i jack somethin' up. thanks for the help
