Frame tank

im gonna stock floor my truck and want to use half the frame for a tank....but how do i coat the inside to stock rust also where can u get weld in ports

Drill a hole and weld on a Nut! BLAM!!! you got your port.

Lol. That wouldn't work anyway. A nut isn't the same as pipe thread. How many ports do you need man? And what size? I don't know where you can buy them, but I can make some. I've made a few before on the lathe, and they worked pretty good. I'll have to check my pipe taps. I think I have some pretty big ones.

As far as sealing the frame you could use gas tank sealer. If you have your frame stripped, get a buddy and pour some in through one of the ports and shake the frame around. lol. It could be done. I've done it with bike frames.

I'll check my pipe taps tomorrow. I know for sure I have a 3/8" pipe tap. I have some 1" heavy wall DOM that might be thick enough to tap. Then you could just use a 1" holesaw stick it in and weld it.

or do u think it would look cleaner if i just drill and tap the frame

That would probably be the cleanest way to do it. As long as your frame is 1/4" thick it should be alright. 3/16" would be a little thin since pipe fittings are tapered.
