Sealed or ported? 10s or 12s?

Iam either looking at get two alpine Type R 12's or 10's Iam not sure on wich size.. Also ported box or sealed? I have no clue on what I want. I will be listing to both rap and rock about the same amount. I know most people will say get the 12s but Iam not sure. I was told that the 10s hit harder but the 12s are louder. Help a brother out..... Also these will be going into a 03 S-10 extended cab. with a 1200 watt jbl amp
