IM NOT SURE...I HAD A BUDDY THAT HAD THAT PROBLEM WITH HIS TRUCK BUT WHEN IT WAS FIXED IT NEVER DID IT AGAIN. IVE NEVER HAD TO ADJUST LIFTERS OR ANYTHING BUT COULD YOU USE LIKE SOME TYPE OF LOCKTIGHT OR EVEN TRY REPLACING THE STUDS. THEY COULD BE WORN OUT AND JUST LOOSENING THEMSELVES UP WITH THE VIBRATION.

yea i can check that out ...i was also gonna try some lucas oil and change to synthetic oils and see if that does any thing if not ill check that out if worse comes to worse ill just have to fork out some cash i guess for a new topend

20/22r series motor does not have lifters, its an Over Head Cam style motor. You are adjusting the rocker/cam arms. If the nut keeps backing off then you need to replace it or check to see if its binding somewhere.

Tip, check your exhaust manifold for leaks especially around the air lines from the egr. Those have a tendancy to tick when they leak.
