well im gettin rid of my 17's this week n thinkin about getting 20's.i kno i have to tub the firewall but is it possible to ride without tubbing it?cuz after i get the wheels ima tub it but ima have to drive the truck for like a week.

My friend put 20s on his 4Runner without tubbing. He just beat the firewall in a bit and he could ride pretty low without rubbing. But it was like 1.5" from laying up front.

i think it comes down to what tire size your gonna run

all depends on tire size and wheel width and backspacing...

A 205/40ZR17 is a 23.5" tall tire

A 225/30ZR20 is a 25.3" tall tire

Now if you can lay out a 23.5" tall tire without even having to cut out the inner fenders I dont see why you couldnt lay a tire that is only 1.8" bigger in diamenter You are only adding < 1" to each side so why couldnt you do it with tubbing?

Your going to have to tub it eventually. And if you are going to get 20's and you want to run the 225/30 tire on it, get a 7.5 inch wide rim!! I have an 8.5 inch wide and they said if I ever want to get my tires off, I will have to CUT them off.

shit happens n i gotta stay with the 17's for a while but nnow i kno wat i gotta do for the 20's.
