22re In A Mazda?

Hey guys, whats up? I bought my truck with a blown motor...no, unfortunetely i dont mean supercharged! Anyway, ive heard so much crap about how gutless these poor Mazda engines are and i am somewhat familiar with the Toyota 22re-and i know theres more parts eisily available for them. Also, theyre fuel injected and i believe they have a pretty good pep to em...i was thinking about doing the swap in my Dawg and i was jus wondering anything you guys know about the 22re's...and if, by any chance, anyone has seen one in a mazda? Any input would help...thanks. Oh yea, and do they have emissions stuff on them that i could take off and still have it run good??
