I always wanted to know what this stood for.

"Sport Rally 5 speed" Is what it originally meant, now a days it is just an upgrade package (leather seats, leather shift boot, leather steering wheel, tach, etc, etc).

i learn something new every day! i thought it meant ''Still Running @ 500,000 miles''

i thought limited was the upgrade?

Damn mike, you're good...

i believe limited is the top level trim.

lol product knowledge is a must for Toyota, they send us to "University of Toyota" all the time.

And yes Limited is the actual top of the line package. SR5, Limited, or whatever these days is just a level of trim. On 4runners and stuff SR5 means it has Chrome bumpers and grille then Limited would be leather interior, navigation, etc.

way back in 79-83 it meant bucket seats, air con, floor mounted 5spd, carpet interior, carpet on doors, speakers in the door.
pretty big upgrade from the base model ones back then.

got told after the 79-83 series sr5s were only offered in xtracab models, this true?

Cant find that info, but my service manager says yes 83 was the last std cab SR5 pickup.

Ive also been told that after 83 the only trucks that were offered as SR5's were the extra-cab models & 4-runners. On my truck I got the doors off an SR5 model cause they had power windows.

My 88 Extra Cab, is a SR5, didn't come with power windows, got them from same year 4 Runner.
