onboard compressor

I was wondering if I can use my factory A/C compressor as a compressor to fill up my reserve tank. Sice I have no use for it anymore. If so what else do I need to add to it so it will work right. If not, can I take the compressor out and use a shorter belt.(WHAT BELT CAN I USE SINCE IT WILL BE SHORTER)
