quick question...need answer asap.

well im about go shave my tailgate handle. i dont have the relocator YET. i never shaved or installed a relocator before, but i was wondering if i can just shave it now and install it later. i assume yes, but i wanna make sure. so far i just removed the handle. but wondering before i shave it, is i dont have to do anything like mount the handle a certain way before. heres the pics so far... let me kno quick so i can start the shaving...
