rack and pinion steering

jat wondering if anyone has done a rack and pinion steer from steering box and drag link mod on a yota yet and if so what rack would suit it best..

I did to make my rhd conversion. I used a 96 toyota tercel rack then cut the ends off and welded on the stock adjuster sleeves and used stock outer tie rod ends.

In my humble opinion racks are over rated.
All my years working in a shop I have replaced hundreds of racks and almost no steering boxes.

the only reason i was going to change to rack and pinion is free some space up around the drag link..to fit the engine and also the steering box is ugly sitting on the chassis and make for very little clearence for the altinator...
..o and if i did change it over would it be a problem moving it to rear mount and swaping my spindals round so the steering arm on them is facing back..

Im gonna put a rack off a cobra/MGB from flaming river. Idealy youd like to find a rack with a narrow width so bumpsteer is limited moreso than a wider rack.
